More and More Halloween!

And a sketch challenge you can still play along with :).   Recently I came across this blog for sketch challenges called I spy Sketches,  There sketches are creative and inspiring.   They are posted on Friday, (which works perfect for me) and you have all week to upload your card.

So for my other niece I created a card for her using this sketch.  And of course I used my new favorite stamp set from There She Goes Clear Stamps- Hauntingly Delightful.

So take a look and play along!

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a safe and fun Halloween!

Mojo Monday 263

More Halloween!   I had so much fun with this  Mojo Monday Sketch.  Of course I always wait to the last minute to do their sketches because most of my crafting is done on the weekend and they post their new sketches on Monday.  So generally I have to wait all week till I can get in my craft room and create something.  The good news is it gives me all week to think about, the bad news is if my followers wanted to play along  it doesn't give you all much time to do so.    However a new sketch is posted each and every Monday so tomorrow check out what new fun layout they post and join along.  Hopefully you wont be a last minute Lucy like me :).

Ok so for the card.... I made this card for one of nieces for Halloween.  I recently purchased a new product called Perfect Pearls Mist and decided to give it a whirl.  As you can see I sprayed in on the black half circle.   I love the shimmer effect and definitely gonna play with it some more.  Especially for Christmas cards.

Recently and finally I just purchased this stamp set from The She Goes Clear Stamps.  This stamp set is so hot that every time I went to purchase it, it was sold out.  It took me almost a year to get-LOL.  Its called Hauntingly Delightful,  and little guys are so cute!

I also did a technique using MFT Wonky Scallop Border and SU Perfect Plum ink to make clouds.  So so easy.  I learned of this technique a while back. However at the time I made a circle cardboard die cut  to get the cloud effect.   Of course using the MFT diecut this time around made it so much easy and more detailed.

Oh and don't you just love the eyeballs I gave my mummy and bats.  Yup I had fun with this one.

Happy Halloween!

This is such a fun time of year and may I mention my favorite time of year.  I love seeing all the creativeness that come out of people  with crafting, costumes and decorating.

So speaking of......  I know it's been a while since I have posted, but rest assure I have been crafting away.   I even had a little helper.  My second cousin Ms. Brianna.  I get to spend some time with this cutie on the weekends and we have been having tons of fun.

Brianna wants to be a butterfly for Halloween, so this was a trial run for her face,  I am going to try and duplicate this for Halloween,  wish me luck.

So let me show you some of the projects my trusty lil assistant and I have created :).

Bri and I created this for her class room.  Very cute banner and mostly done with Diecuts, of course all from MFT.

Candy and candy holders!.   First  the vellum bag is embossed with one of my favorite patterns-chervon.  This is perfect for a little treat.  And secondly yes that is chocolate in that paper jar.  Isn't that jar so clever?  This a diecut from SU and all we did was use our oval punch to punch out the window to see the chocolate.

Well thanks for stopping by I have a few more posts coming up with Halloween tricks and treats.

MFTWSC88

Wow October is just around the corner and you know what the means......    Breast Cancer Awareness Month!  I was asked again this year to donate some of my cards to local event "Gallerie de Rose."   This event happens every year in benefit for the Vanessa Echols Breast Cancer Foundation.   Vanessa herself is one of our local news caster and a breast cancer survivor.   I am honored to help out in anyway I can and am excited to hear what advances the foundation has made over the last year.

Here is one of  the cards I made using this weeks MFTWSC88 card challenge.  I really enjoyed this layout.  Well thanks for stopping by and hope you got "enspired."

Hold on to Each Other

Well this card is fitting, we experienced some heavy rains today due to Hurricane Issac, so I decided to hang out in my craft room and play.  Its been a while since our last hurricane but you can never really know how
damaging  the high winds will be.   But seriously when a hurricane does hit hold on..... tight..... and to each other :).

I am super excited about this card that I made for the  My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club 86.  So much to say about it...

First I love having other crafting buddies with talents that I don't posses. Julie is a friend of mine that does tatting as "one" of her many hobbies.   I have been trying to come up with an idea to incorporate some   flowers that she recently made for me.  While visiting with her one day she let me go through her scrap bag and even her scraps are amazingly beautiful.  I used a tatted band as a border to this cute PI girl.  It sorta pops on the card adding just the right amount of dimension.

Tatting is generally done to make jewelry but I don't know it's elegance is really nice to add to a card,  what do you think?  To see more of Julie's  tatting and her other talents, here is a link to her blog. Let me mention she is also a great writer and reading her posts are informative and a lot of fun!

Second so glad I decided  not to paper pierce this Pure Innocence  little girl's dress. The only way to get better at coloring with copics is to practice, practice, practice.  I am  beginning to see some improvement in my coloring abilities.  Just need to practice.

Lastly I just love this DP vellum paper by Anna Griffin.   I purchased this set some time ago and never really figured out what to use it for.  Today I just got creative and went for it..

So here is what I came up with below.

Paper: SU Cardstock Basic Black, Whisper White, DP an Vellum Ana Griffin Darcey Collection
Stamps: MFT PI Purrfect, Clearly Sentiments about Audrey Hepburn
Ink: Copics and Black Memento
Accessories: Bits of Bruce Tatting, MFT Rolled Roses, Kaisers Rhinestones and Pearls, American Craft Ribbon.

Well thanks for stopping by,  I hope this gets you enspired :).  Have a great weekend.

Being Together :)

Hi All, I was able to sneak in a quick card this week.  My husband is on break from work and school and we have spent a lot of time enjoying each other's company over the last days of summer.   But in a few weeks its back to the grind.   Oh well at least this ridiculous heat will be behind us and and we can look forward to cooler days :).

So as I said I snuck this card in barely making the deadline!   Of course I couldn't resist doing a Mojo Monday sketch challenge.  Very unique layout.   I love the little square on this card.  I decided to re-stamp the word together and then pop it up on the card.  Hope you like it!

Love Being Yourself-Audrey Hepburn

Today I got to play along as a newbie with iSpy Sketches.  One of the bloggers I follow had put a post uup about this sketch and I really liked the layout.  It's very simple and clean.  I don't do these often enough.

Also I just got these stamps from MFT, its the Clearly Sentiments from Audrey Hepburn.   They are so pretty and elegant.  If you don't own you should definitely make them a part of your collection.

There are so many people I can think of that I could deliver this card to.  In the meantime think of this as a virtual card to you.  Love Being Yourself.   Thanks for stopping by :).

Three times a charm- Sweet :)

Today I was taught what happens when you over fill your copic marker.   What a mess!  I had to redo my image not once, not twice  but yes three times.  Thankfully third time was a charm.   Funny I remember discussing this with SugarPea Designs-Wendy Ramlakhan a few weeks back.  She was telling me how at times she will have colored her whole image and at the very end make a boo boo, she was saying how sometimes they are salvageable and sometimes not.  I can't image Wendy having to start all over,  her coloring is so amazing and I am sure it takes her quite a bit to do.   In my case as you can see....  they were not but I need the practice.
Exhibit A -  the basket, I tried using my colorless blender but it was pushing the color all over the paper :(.

Exhibit B-  her hair, as soon as I opened my marker a large tear drop fell on the page.

So how many times on average do you redo your images?  Of course I may have had one solution besides redoing from scratch for the basket. Maybe restamped and cut out the basket, paper piercing or popping it up on the image.  At least I got to Practice Practice Practice.

Alright well on to the completed project.  This very cute MFT stamped card was made for the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club.  This card kinda makes me hungery now for Strawberries- yummo.

3 in 1 Many thanks

Hi all,  hope everyone is staying cool on this super hot weekend. The huble and I decided to make it a weekend of staying inside with the ac.  We have been so busy this summer and not been able to spend to much time together, so this weekend we were final in the same spot at the same time. Of  course you don't have to twist to my arm with Olympics being on tv.    So far there have been some shockers and some upsets.  Mike Phelps not getting a medal in the 400m, usa taking silver in archery missing by 2 points last minute against Italy.  WTG Italy though that was an amazing shot.  And of course just memorized by both ladies and men gymnastics.

Ok will enough about that let me brag about my Olympic talent -LOL.  Can you say multitasker?   I made this card not intentionally trying to complete three challenges it just sorta happen that way.  First JUGS (just us girls) hosted a challenged using butterflies.  I have been following their blog for a while and finally got to play along:).  Second Mojo Monday Challenge of course never fails to surprise me with their super cute layouts and lastly but of course not least  Cr84fn color challenge with this weeks combo of coral, brown and tan.

Ahoy Matey!

Welcome back!   This is another image I colored at the MFT studio  a couple weeks ago and put it together for the MFT Wednesday Stamp Challenge 80.   Funny I am not a nautical type person but when I seen this stamp I just had to have it.

Shame on me-LOL.

Shame on me! Yes it has been three months since I posted and I guess I kinda left everyone hanging.   First let me explain.   I was so excited about my last card and before giving it to someone special I completely forgot to take a picture to post later.   And of course it is the one card I am most proud of.   Then we lost our computer, I lost my craft room (again), summer hit, etc etc.  I have been still crafting a little here and there but I realize it doesn't happen unless I need to make a card for an occasion.   So yes shame on me :).   When I do-do it though I realize how much I really miss it.  It truly is my therapy.

Since we are talking about hanging, here is a little monkey treat for you.   Had a great weekend and spent Saturday over at the MFT Boutique.   Took a great class by Wendy Ramlakhan on copic coloring.   She is very talented and taught us about texturing with the colorless blender.   I met Wendy a few months back and was amazed by her coloring hair technique and this time around she taught us about fur and demin.  So my little monkey is a bit furry and the process is quite easy.  After you are finished coloring your image and it is completely dry, take your colorless blender refill and moisten a washcloth.   Then gently press your image.   Isn't this great, I mean isn't Wendy great?! I still have to practice on the denim technique but if you are curious hop on over to her blog at SugarPea Designs

Day of Stampin Up.

Well what can I say except busy, busy.  I have been crafting but have had zero time to post.   I think I need  my own publisher- LOL.  Ok so last week I did get to go and play at Bevelry's Studio and of course had a blast with some great ladies.   We made several cards but here are two of my favorites.

This one is called Shabby Chic.

This one is very spring.

I am working on a super cute project today and will post later, HINT is all about the 1950's.

Thanks for stopping by have a great day.

Hoppy-est Birthday

Spring is almost here!  Well here in Florida it feels like it has begun.  We have had some beautiful weather mixed in with a few chilly days. Spring is one of my favorite times of the year.  There is Easter, St. Patty's Day, my husbands birthday, my nieces birthday, my grandfather's birthday, my grandmother's birthday and oh course my birthday :).

So I thought I better getting hopping (pun intended) on those birthday cards.

I created this card for this week's  Mojo Monday sketch challenge.  And oh yeah 2 for 2, made and completed a card on the same day of the sketch.   I am on a roll!

I purchased the stamp set Buggy Punnies from My Pink Stamper a few months ago and have been waiting to create a card with them.   It paired nicely with one of my favorites bunny stamps from High Hopes Stamps.  I use this stamp alot around Easter and thought it would be  a nice change to use as an image for a birthday card.

Well thanks for hopping by and have a great rest of your week.

The sweetest thing Sunday Challenge- Happy Easter

I can't believe it!  Not only did I get to play along in the sweet-sunday-sketch-challenge, but I did it on the same day it was posted!   Woo-hoo yeah for me.   (its the small things:).

So for this weeks challenge I used some of the goodies I picked up yesterday at MFT's new store.   Of course I thought I had everything before walking in there and came out with like..........8 new items.

So I can officially say join in and play along.   You have all week to submit you creations and get crafty :)

Ooh I almost forgot,   so from Wendy's excellent teaching skills,  how do you like her hair?  I think I am getting better?

MFT Re-Opening and New Tips

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the Re-Grand Opening of My Favorite Things.   They relocated to a cool swanky shabby chic shop in the Eustis downtown area.  I spent the day crafting, had a lovely lunch and tea latte at Olivia's cafe and then walked around the lake as the town was holding an event called Georgefest.  It's a weekend celebration in honor of George Washington's Birthday.  Of course the highlight is to to have one of my favorite designers and stamp creators right here in my backyard!   I get so inspired by such talent.

It was a really nice opening with a guest visit from DT member Jody Morrow. She had us create this itty bitty strawberry treat using MFT Die-namics  Berry Box and one of my favorites .....  Woodgrain Fence.  I use this fence alot!

I also got to meet Wendy Ramlakhan.   She is a coloring guru and let me sit with her quite some time going over coloring techniques for hair.  (as this is my struggle).   I was taught quite a few tips and tricks.   Wendy of course has a blog and if you haven't checked it out,  you should! It's call Sugar Pea Designs.  She has some really good tutorials.
Most of what I have learned with my crafts have been through blogs, you tube, tutorials etc.  And truly of lot of what I make is easy enough for any one to do.

Well thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your evening.

It's Sale-a-bration with Stampin UP!

If you are a Stamping Up fan then you know what Sale-A-Bration is,  if you are not let me tell you all about it.  Basically you order at least $50.00 of  products and you get to pick a free item.  This is anything from DP paper to stamps to embellishments.   I actually got to play with some of these thanks to my SU demonstrator who was so sweet to put together a little package  for me.   Let me just say the new DP paper Fresh Elegance  sooooooo pretty.   Check out what I came up with below and thanks for stopping by.

SCS 368 Happy Birthday

Its Super Bowl Sunday or is it Super Craft Sunday? :).   I have been crafting a few cards for friend and literally had to get them out the door, so I didn't even have time to take a pic of all of them except for one :0.   I used the layout from the Wednesday Card Challenge 368 on Spiltcoast Stampers.   It was sorta simply and I again used my DP Poteeka Souffle.   This paper pack has the prettiest designs.

Enjoy your Sunday :)

Mojo Monday 1.16.12 and my first blog for 2012!

Hi all.  well what I can say...? every attempt I made to get crafting was sabotage by some type of life event.  To make matters worse my craft room got flooded by water from leak.   Lost a few things but on the bright side it gave me an opportunity to clean up and reorganize.  Not a great start to the new year but honestly all other things have been going pretty good so I am going to continue to look to the bright side.  Kinda a "new years resolution" :).

Speaking of New Year's Resolution's. I have decided to say no a bit more, meaning I am not going to fill up my plate with so many commitments and stress when I can't get things done.  I attempted this last year but didn't really know where to start.  I am much wiser this year :). Some things are controllable and others not so much.   So having said that I love making my cards and I love love doing all the challenges but I think trying to do so many weekly is impossible.  My goal is one a week (or two).

Of course I wont be slowing down on attending classes.  You other crafters inspire me!

So for this week's Mojo Monday Sketch challenge.  I made the following two cards.   I picked the right week to get back into the game.   This sketch is great!  Layout was so easy to work with and just the right number of layers.  So hence why I made two cards.   I hope you enjoy looking at them as much I as did making them.   Thanks so much for stopping by.
